Kacee Lodge is Clearwater’s registered home in Great Horkesley. We have six single bedrooms and one shared double room. There is one assisted bath with an over head hoist, one walk in shower room and two separate toilets. We welcome service users to personalise their own rooms and each can access a range of supporting equipment to make life at Kacee even easier. This includes two available mobile hoists, wheelchairs, slings, walking belts, slide mats, safe beds with sides and a remote control service.
Kitchen: Our kitchen area is fully equipped and well-laid out. All meals are freshly prepared with a choice of menu; we can adapt to the individual dietary/religious needs of any resident or visitor.
Living and activities areas: Kacee communal accommodation is a living-dining room with a large screen television and comfortable furniture suitable for the residents and their physical disabilities. there is also a sensory room, and an activities room. Within the activities room, staff engage in cake making, pizza making, puzzles, paint therapy, music therapy (Best Foot Forward), foot baths and hand massage, manicures, reading and use of the sensory facilities within residents rooms. During the summer we have BBQ and Family Day’s. We also love to arrange different culture days – recent ones include African, Romanian, and Indian.
Staff: Our dedicated staff have experience to deal with severe learning disabilities. We have a regular training programmes for staff to enhance their current skill levels. The team also experience with autism, sensorial and visual impairment, epilepsy, diabetes and other medical conditions. Staff are not only trained to deal with various kind of situations, but are also keen in keeping helpful information updated at all times in order to discover the best way to approach the clients. Staff have either completed their NVQ’s or are awaiting to start.
