Florfield is located in the center of Hackney with four large bedrooms which are all wheelchair accessible. Every bedroom has its own en-suite with adaptations for physical disabilities. One room is sensory equipped to meet the needs of the individual occupying it. The home is sited on the ground floor of the building with a wide hallway and larger than normal rooms making it suitable for individuals with physical disabilities to get around.
Kitchen: Our kitchen is a spacious kitchen/diner with space for six to dine at any one time. Supervised cooking forms part of our daily activities as well as self-cooking for those residents who are able to.
Living area: Our living room is the centre of our socialising – it’s comfortable and fully equipped with TV, music system, and all mod cons!
Staff: Our team of staff are fantastic and provide wonderful care, support and encouragement to the service users. Our permanent staff have got at least NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, and all staff have attended LDQ Induction Award. Everybody who has joined us has good experience in the care sector. We continue to provide both mandatory and service related training to all staff to increase knowledge and skill. This is vitally important. Our Register Home Manager, Linda Obeng holds NVQ level 4 and has a great deal of experience in managing Learning Disability care operations.
Staffing patterns are divided into three shifts over 24 hours. We have one ‘waking night’ throughout the night.
