A warm welcome to Searsons Way, our residential home located in Hornchurch.The service users that live here are supported by a dedicated team, who support and care for each individual along their care pathway. We work with each person in genuine ‘partnership’ working – consulting and engaging at each stage of their care programme with regular reviews in terms of targets achieved. We always welcome feedback on how we are performing as a residential home and we continually listen to the views of the people in our care, and their friends and families – it’s very much a team effort!
It’s a busy life at Searsons Way - during the week we access a number of different activities which include bocha, bowling, swimming and walks to the local parks. We are in the process of setting up further activities within the local area such as visits to the local café for tea and the local theatre.
We also work closely with partner agencies within the area: we have links with the local Havering College who support us in training our staff through the NVQ process and supporting us in recruiting for staff from their Health and Social Care division. We also have extremely good links with local YMCA and Hermitage Centre which includes a Specialist Epilepsy Nurse where we can access their services should these be required. Further, we are starting to build links with the Fairkytes Arts and Crafts Centre, to gain further contact and presence within the community.
As a Home-from-home service we encourage families to visit regularly or call as often as they wish to know about the care their relatives are receiving. During the year we invite family members to attend many activities and parties with us to celebrate significant occasions and festivals. We also try to make regular calls ourselves to the families if we have not heard from them to check on their wellbeing as well as giving an update on the individual in our care.
